WHY ARE WE SO EXCITED ABOUT MEMBERS?
When more people are committed to decent affordable housing, we get closer to our goal of everyone having a dry roof over his or her head!
We cannot continue our work—much less expand to address the many housing needs in our community—without the financial support of those who believe in decent housing. It may SEEM like we can work miracles to resolve housing problems, but it is really the combined efforts of all our members!
With changing government priorities that have cut some of our contracts, we must broaden our support base.
We are working on WIN-WIN-WIN solutions to complex housing problems, so we are pleased that you recognize that YOU are winning, too, when you are members of GHC. You know that when people coming out of prison get settled in good housing, they have less chance of going back and YOU are safer. You know that when children and senior citizens are no longer at risk of getting hurt by their houses, their health care costs are reduced—saving YOU money, too. You know that when evictions and foreclosures and condemnations are prevented, that your neighbors have housing—and YOU don’t have abandoned homes in your neighborhood.
