Housing Matters for Health

There is a strong correlation between health and housing conditions. Asthma and other respiratory diseases can be triggered by mold, cockroaches, and dampness.  Lead poisoning from old paint can cause irreversible brain damage in children. Carbon monoxide can kill with no warning if CO detectors are not installed and operating.  Broken railings and other structural hazards cause falls.
