Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)
Keeping people from losing housing: HPRP will stabilize housing for individuals and families at immediate risk of becoming homeless and provide housing counseling and rental assistance as they take steps to become independent.
Getting people back into housing: HPRP will assist homeless individuals and families to get and keep affordable housing while they take steps to become independent.
Program eligibility: Participants must be in the city limits of Greensboro, have extremely low income, be able to make and follow a plan to become independent, and be homeless or at immediate risk of becoming homeless. The HPRP team selects eligible individuals and families for participation in the program.
The 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will fund the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program in Greensboro for three years. Greensboro Housing Coalition housing counselors provide the case management and Family Service of the Piedmont encourages rental property owners to participate in HPRP.
Contact the Housing Hotline 691-9521 for an intake interview to determine eligibility for consideration by the HPRP team.
